Project dependency management when you are running several things at once
A task can look important and still be the wrong next action if another unresolved dependency prevents progress.
Map what must happen first
For each important outcome, identify prerequisites, approvals, information, external responses, and technical work that must exist before later work becomes useful.
Separate blocked from actionable
A blocked task should not consume attention simply because it is urgent. Record the blocker and identify the action that can remove it.
Track waiting-on work
External dependencies need owners and follow-up dates. Without a waiting-on system, delayed responses repeatedly disappear from attention until they become emergencies.
Prioritize unlocks
An action that unlocks several downstream tasks can deserve priority over a standalone action with a louder deadline.
