A future-ready author checklist

  1. Know your manuscript.Be ready to identify its genre, intended reader, approximate word count, completion status, and central promise.
  2. Prepare a clear pitch.Draft a concise overview, author biography, audience description, and comparable-title discussion.
  3. Protect confidential material.Never send passwords, private identifiers, sensitive records, or third-party material you do not have permission to share.
  4. Confirm your rights.Identify any quotations, photographs, illustrations, lyrics, brands, interviews, or previously published material requiring permission.
  5. Wait for the official opening.Use only the submission method and guidelines published on this page when submissions formally open.
